من أسباب تأليف الرسالة: 1. إبراز علمية ابن الزاغوني الأصولية. 2.إظهار مدى عناية العلماء الأوائل بتثبيت المسائل الأصولية وتوضيحها. 3.إثراء الباحث والقارئ وطالب العلم بأصول الفقه من خلال جمع مسائل كثيرة تختص بهذا العلم في كتاب واحد.
محتويات الرسالة: تشتمل الرسالة على مقدمة وتمهيد وثلاثة أبواب وخاتمة وفهارس علمية.
أما المقدمة: فتحتوي على الافتتاحية وأهمية الموضوع وأسباب اختياره والدراسات السابقة وخطة البحث والمنهج المتبع فيه.
وأما التمهيد: فيشتمل على مبحثين: الأول: التعريف بابن الزاغوني رحمه الله تعالى.
الثاني: التعريف بمفردات العنوان، (الآراء الأصولية)
وأما الأبواب: فالباب الأول: آراؤه الأصولية في مباحث الأحكام والأدلة المتفق عليها والمختلف فيها. والباب الثاني: آراؤه في مباحث دلالات الألفاظ. والباب الثالث: آراؤه في الاجتهاد والتقليد والتعارض والترجيح، ثم الخاتمة: وفيها أهم نتائج البحث، وهي كالتالي.
المسائل التي وافق فيها ابن الزاغوني الجمهور وتبلغ ثلاث وثمانون مسألة.
المسائل التي خالف فيها ابن الزاغوني الجمهور وتبلغ ست مسائل.
المسائل التي لم يتبين لي فيها رأي الجمهور من عدمه وتبلغ تسعة عشر مسألة.
ثم الفهارس العلمية .
Abstract: The Fundamentals Opinions of Imam Ibn Al-Zaghouni AI-Hanbali (died 527 A. H. ) Collection and Study.
Among the reasons for writing the thesis: 1. Showing Ibn Al-Zaghuni's Scientific ability in Usul al-Fiqh . 2. Showing the extent of the early scholars' care in verifying and clarifying Usul al-Fiqh subjects. 3. Enriching the researcher, the reader, and the student of knowledge with the Usul al-Fiqh by collecting many subjects related to this science in one book.
Contents of the thesis: The thesis includes an introduction, a preface, three chapters, a conclusion, and scientific indexes.
As for the introduction: it contains the foreword, the importance of the topic, the reasons for its selection, previous studies, the research plan, and the methodology used in it.
As for the preface: it includes two topics: the first: introducing Ibn Al-Zaghuni, May God have mercy on him, the second: introducing the vocabulary of the title, (Usul al-Fiqh opinions).
The first chapter: his views in the matters of rulings and evidence that are agreed upon and differed in. The second chapter: his views on the semantics of words, and the third chapter: his views on ijtihad, imitation, conflict, and preference, and then the conclusion: and it contains the most important results of the research, which are as follows.
The subjects in which Ibn Al-Zaghuni agreed with the majority of scholars amount to eighty-three subjects.
The subjects in which Ibn Al-Zaghuni disagreed with the majority of scholars amount to six subjects.
Subjects in which it was not clear to me whether or not the opinion of the majority of scholars amounted to nineteen subjects.
