المستخلص: تناول البحث بالدراسة موضوع دور القطاع الصناعي في التنمية الاقتصادية بالمملكة العربية السعودية دراسة تطبيقية على الشركة السعودية للصناعات الأساسية "سابك" للفترة من 2000-2017، وقد تمثلت مشكلة البحث في أن المملكة العربية السعودية تعول وبشكل كبير على القطاع الصناعي في تحقيق هدف تنويع مصادر الدخل، كهدف استراتيجي يتعلق بتنمية الاقتصاد الوطني وتقوية هيكله، وتدور مشكلة البحث حول طبيعة وحجم الدور الذي يقوم به هذا القطاع في التنمية الاقتصادية في المملكة العربية السعودية. وهدف البحث إلى اجراء دراسة تحليلية لدور القطاع الصناعي في التنمية الاقتصادية في المملكة العربية السعودية خلال الفترة 2000 - 2017م، وذلك بالوقوف على واقع القطاع الصناعي والتنمية الاقتصادية في المملكة العربية السعودية، وتوضيح وتحليل علاقة القطاع الصناعي في المملكة العربية السعودية بالتنمية الاقتصادية والمبادرات الخاصة به ضمن خطط التنمية، مع بيان أهمية الصناعة التحويلية كداعم أساسي وبديل استراتيجي للاقتصاد النفطي في المملكة العربية السعودية، وبيان دور شركة سابك كداعم أساسي للقطاع الصناعي والتنمية الاقتصادية في المملكة العربية السعودية. استخدم في البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتوصل إلى عدة نتائج أهمها ارتفاع النمو في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي خلال فترة الدراسة بنسبة 80.41%، وارتفعت نسبة مساهمة القطاع الصناعي بنهاية العام 2017 لتصل إلى 11.5% من إجمالي الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، كما توصلت الدراسة أن للقطاع الصناعي دور كبير في التنمية الاقتصادية في المملكة العربية السعودية، وأن المملكة العربية السعودية لديها المقومات الكافية لتكون الصناعة التحويلية بديلاً وليس داعماً للصناعة الاستخراجية، كما توصلت الدراسة أن شركة سابك حققت معدلات نمو مرتفعة خلال الفترة 2002-2017، حيث بلغت نسبة النمو في الإيرادات 341.17%، ونسبة النمو في صافي الدخل 557.14%. وقد تمثلت أهم التوصيات التي تقدم بها الباحث في التأكيد على ضرورة إيجاد برامج تعليمية ومهنية تطبيقية تعمل على رفع مستوى الكفاءة البشرية الوطنية في القطاع الصناعي، بالإضافة إلى ضرورة إيجاد مركز خاص لجمع المعلومات الخاصة بالقطاع الصناعي بجميع جوانبه، الأمر الذي يسهم في فع عجلة التنمية الصناعية، وتفعيل المبادرات التي تقدمها شركة سابك.

Abstract: The study deals with the role of the industrial sector in the economic development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an applied study to the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) between 2000-2017. The problem of research is that Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the industrial sector in achieving the goal of diversifying sources of income as a strategic objective related to the development of the national economy and strengthening its structure. The problem also revolves around the nature and size of the role played by this sector in economic development in Saudi Arabia. The objective of the research is to conduct an analytical study on the role of the industrial sector in the economic development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2000-2017 by understanding the reality of the industrial sector and the economic development in Saudi Arabia; furthermore, clarifying and analyzing the relationship of the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia with economic development and its initiatives within Development plans. Moreover, the research highlights the importance of processing manufacturing as a basic support and a strategic alternative to the oil economy in Saudi Arabia, as well as the role of SABIC as a key supporter of the industrial sector and economic development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research uses the analytical descriptive method. It reaches several findings, the most important of which is the increase in GDP growth during the study period by 80.41%, and the contribution of the industrial sector by the end of 2017 to 11.5% of the gross domestic product. Moreover, one of the research findings is that the industrial sector of Saudi Arabia has a big role in economic development and that Saudi Arabia has the necessary resources for processing industry to be an alternative rather than a supportive for the extractive industry. The study finds out that SABIC has achieved high growth rates between 2002-2017, where the increase in revenue has been 341.17% and the increase of net income has been 557.14%. The main recommendations of the research are to emphasize the need of creating educational and vocational programs that raise the level of national human efficiency in the industrial sector and the need to establish a special center for collecting information about the industrial sector in all its aspects, which contributes to the development of industrial development and activating initiativeis provided by SABIC
