المستخلص: قسم الباحث رسالته إلى مقدمة وقسمين: دراسي وتحقيقي. المقدمة: أورد فيها كلمة موجزة عن حفظ السنة وتأليف الموطأ وعناية أهل الأندلس به، ثم خطة البحث والمنهج المتبع في التحقيق. القسم الدراسي: وفيه أربعة فصول: عصر المصنف من الناحية السياسية والعلمية، ترجمة المصنف، دراسة الكتاب، موارد المؤلف في كتابه. وقد اعتمد المحقق على نسخة فريدة من الكتاب محفوظة بمكتبة "كوبرلي" بتركيا برقم (253)، عدد أوراقها (279)، عدد الأسطر (19)، الجزء المحقق منها يقع في (144) ورقة. وأما القسم الثاني: النص المحقق، وهو الجزء الأول من الكتاب، مرتب على مسانيد الصحابة ويحتوي على القسم الأول من الأسماء، والقسم الثاني: في من عدل عن اسمه من الصحابة رضي الله عنهم إلى كنية أو غيرها، المنسوبون من الصحابة، المبهمون من الصحابة.

Abstract: The researcher divided the thesis into introduction and two sections: study and investigation. Introduction: brief discussion on preservation of the sunnah, writing of Al-Muwatta’ and the concern of people of Andalus for it, research plan and methodology. Study section: this is divided into four chapters: era of the Author from the political and academic perspective, biography of the Author, study of the book, sources of the Author in his book. The researcher relied on the only available copy of the book preserved in Kuberly in Turkey with number (253), in (279) sheets, (19) lines, the investigated portion in it is about (144) sheets. Section two: Investigated text which is part one of the book, arranged according to the transmission of the companions. It contains names from section one while section two deals with companions who have changed their names to their surnames, and companions whose names are not clear.
