المستخلص: هدفَ هذا البحثُ إلى دراسة ماهية الشيعة وأصولها التي أفرزت مقالاتٍ كثيرة استأثرت على حيز كبير من التراث الثقافي، واستقى أهميتَه من شدة حاجة المكتبة العلمية إلى بحثٍ يتخصص في التعريف بالشيعة، ومناقشةِ أهم الآراء المتعلقة بمسماها الاصطلاحي، وتاريخ نشأتها، ومنبع مقالاتها، وقد توصل البحث إلى صعوبة تقديم تعريفٍ جامع مانع لمصطلح "الشيعة"؛ لقوة تطور المذهب الشيعي ذاته، وكثرة اختلافات أهله، وأفاد غلبةَ إطلاقها في العصر الحاضر على "الإمامية"، وبين أن الفرقة نشأت بجهودٍ سبئية في أواخر عصر الخلافة الراشدة، ثم استغل الأعداءُ بذرتَها في تحقيق مقاصدهم الهدامة، فحملت خلال أطوارها مقالات متنوعة من مشارب مختلفة.

Abstract: This paper aimed to study the nature of Shiites and their principles، which produced many articles that accounted for a large part of the cultural heritage، the importance of this paper was derived from the need of the scholarly library for a research specialized in defining Shiites، discussing the most important opinions related to its conventional name، the date of its inception، and the source of its article. The research found the difficulty of providing a comprehensive definition of the term “Shiites” Because of the strength of the development of the Shiite sect itself، and the many differences of its people، it stated the predominance of its use in the present era over the “Imāmiyyah،” and indicated that the sect was formed by the “Sabaʾiyyah” efforts at the end of the era of the Rightly-Guided Caliphate، then the enemies exploited its seed to achieve their destructive purposes.
