المستخلص: تتمثل مشكلة هذا البحث في بيان الأثر التنموي للقطاع السياحي، ودور الحكومة في تنشيطه وتطويره بعد جائحة فيروس كورونا، الذي تسبب في تعطيل أو الحد من دور هذا القطاع المهم في اقتصاد المملكة العربية السعودية. يهدف البحث إلى استعراض وبيان جهود تطوير وتنمية القطاع السياحي من خلال خطط التنمية في المملكة العربية السعودية، ومن خلال رؤية المملكة 2030. وكذلك دراسة أثر جائحة فيروس كرونا على القطاع السياحي في المملكة العربية السعودية. واعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، حيث تمت الاستعانة بالبيانات الثانوية من مصادرها المختلفة المتمثلة في وزارة السياحة والإدارات والمراكز التابعة لها، وتقارير الهيئة العامة للإحصاء، ومنظمة السياحة العالمية، وكل الجهات ذات الصلة. ومن ثم تحليل البيانات باستخدام أساليب الإحصاء الوصفي المتمثلة في الجداول الإحصائية، والأشكال البيانية، والنسب المئوية. ومن أهم النتائج التي توصل لها البحث أن القطاع السياحي قد ساهم بنسبة كبيرة في الناتج المحلى الإجمالي خلال السنوات الماضية. وأن جائحة فيروس كورونا أثرت على أداء هذا القطاع الحيوي بصورة كبيرة، مما يتطلب تدخل الحكومة لدعم هذا القطاع من خلال إجراءات وسياسات متنوعة، لعودته من أجل القيام بدوره المنوط به. الكلمات المفتاحية: جائحة فيروس كورونا – القطاع السياحي – قطاع الإيواء- قطاع النقل- قطاع الهدايا.

Abstract: Abstract: The problem of this research represented in the explanation of the developmental impact of the tourism sector, and the government's role in revitalizing and developing it after the Coronavirus pandemic, which caused the disruption or limitation of the role of this important sector in the economy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research aims to review and show the efforts to improve and develop the tourism sector through the development plans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and through the Kingdom's vision 2030. As well as studying the impact of the Corona virus pandemic on the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research is based on the descriptive and analytical approach, whereby secondary data is sought from its sources, represented by the Ministry of Tourism and its departments and centers, and reports of the General Authority for Statistics, the World Tourism Organization, and all relevant authorities. And then analyzing the data using the descriptive statistical methods represented in statistical tables, graphs, and percentages. One of the most important findings of the research is that the tourism sector has contributed a large percentage to the gross domestic product during the past years. And that the Coronavirus pandemic has affected the performance of this vital sector greatly, which requires the government to intervene to support this sector through various procedures and policies, for its return in order to perform its assigned role.
