المستخلص: هذه رسالة لطيفة في العقل وماهيته، لأبي البركات هبة الله بن علي ابن ملكا البغداديّ أحد أشهر الأطباء والفلاسفة عاش في آخر القرن الخامس وبداية السادس الهجري (1077م تقريباً). اشتهر هذا المؤلف عموماً بأسلوبه النقديّ ويتناول في هذه الرسالة مفهومَ العقلِ في القرآن الكريم، وأقوال أشهر الفلاسفة اليونانيين كأفلاطون وأرسطو فيه، ثم رأي بعض من تأثر بهم من علماء المسلمين. كما تناولَ بعضَ مشهورِ مسائلِ العقلِ كمَحَلِّهِ وهل هو جوهرٌ أو عرَض وغير ذلك. وقد سار البحث على منهج تحقيق الثراث الإسلامي واعتمد في هذا التحقيق على نسخةٍ فريدةٍ في جامعة لايبزيك بألمانيا الإتحادية، رقم الحفظ: ( D.C. 431 – 01) و (882-01). يتكون البحث من مقدمة ومبحثين: المقدمة وتشتمل على: أهمية الموضوع وأسباب اختياره: المبحث الأول: الدراسة وفيه مطلبان: المبحث الثاني: النصّ المحقق، (من أول الرسالة إلى آخرها في 17 لوحة).

Abstract: This is an investigation of a small manuscript on “The Mind and Its Essence” by Abu al-Barakat Hibatullah Bin Ali Ibn Malka Al-Baghdadi, one of the most famous physicians and philosophers who lived between the end of the fifth century and the beginning of the sixth century after Hijrah (approximately 1077 AD). This author is generally famous for his critical style and he deals with the concept of mind in the Holy Qur’an, and the opinions of the most famous Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle on mind in this work, then the opinion of some of the Muslim scholars who were influenced by them. It also dealt with some famous issues of the mind such as its location and whether it is a substance or abstract and so on. The research followed the methodology of investigating the Islamic heritage and relied in this investigation on a unique copy at the University of Leipzig in Federal Germany, file number: (D.C. 431-01) and (882-01). The research consists of an introduction and two topics: The introduction includes: The importance of the topic and the reasons for choosing it: The first topic: the study and it has two sub-topics: The second topic: the investigatd text (from the beginning of the manuscript to its end in 17 panels).
