المستخلص: ملخص البحث: لأهمية الألقاب وتعليلها في نسبة العَلَمِ الـمُتَرْجَم له، وتمييزه عن غيره؛ هدفت في هذا البحث لبيان جميع الألقاب التي علل سببها ابن الجزري في كتابه غاية النهاية؛ فاتبعت في هذا البحث المنهج الاستقرائي، بتتبعي لجميع الألقاب التي أوردها ابن الجزري وعلل سببها، فبدأت البحث بتقسيمه لقسمين؛ أما القسم الأول فقدمت له بمقدمة؛ تكلمت فيها عن أهمية هذا العلم، ومَهّدتُ له بتعريف؛ للاسم والكنية واللقب، وترتيب ذكرهم في الأسماء والتراجم، واختلاف العلماء في هذا الترتيب، ثم بينت أهمية موضوع تعليل الألقاب، وحاجتنا إليه، وأسباب اختياري كتابَ غاية النهاية لهذا البحث، ثم بينت منهجي، وطريقة عملي في هذا البحث وخطته. وجعلت القسم الثاني من خمسة مباحث، الأول؛ في ذكر من نُسِبَ لقبه لبلد أو مكان، الثاني؛ بينت من نُسِبَ لقبه لصَنْعة أو حِرْفَة أو وظيفة كُلِّف بها، الثالث؛ بينت من نُسِبَ لقبه لبيت أو لقبيلة أو لقريب أو لأحد الأجداد، والرابع؛ ذكرت من نُسِبَ لقبه لصفة علمية تميز بها، أو مدرسة انتمى إليها؛ تَعَلُّما أو تَعلِيما، أو نُسِبَ لقبه لمسجد أو عِلْم أو عالم، أما المبحث الخامس؛ فبينت فيه من نُسِبَ لقبه لخُلُق عُرف به، أو خِلْقَة اتصف بها. وختمت البحث بخاتمة؛ ذكرت فيها أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها من خلال هذا البحث، فوجدته اهتم كثيرا بذكر آراء العلماء؛ في الأسماء والكنى والألقاب والمدن وضبطها، كذلك ذكره لبعض التراجم المكررة؛ بأسماء فيها شي من الاختلاف، مع الاتفاق في التلاميذ والشيوخ، وذكره لبعض التراجم التي لم أجدها عند غيره، وتعليله لكثير من الألقاب التي لم أجد من ذكرها، أو بين علّة تلقيبه بها. ومن التوصيات التي خلصت إليها بعد البحث في هذا الكتاب: أرى أن يهتم بها الباحثون بحصر الأسماء والألقاب والكنى والمدن التي ضبطها ابن الجزري بالشكل؛ ونسبتها والحكم عليها، كذلك الأعلام والشيوخ والتلاميذ؛ الذين ذكر بأنهم مجهولون، وقد وجدت بعضهم بكتب التراجم؛ وذكره كذلك لكثير من الأعلام الذين لم يترجم لهم، ولم يذكر سنة وفاتهم؛ مع وجود تراجمهم بكتب أخرى من كتب الأعلام، والكتاب عامر بذكر كثير من المدارس والمساجد والمقارئ؛ التي تحتاج من يبينها، ويذكر مواقعها ومن تَخَرّج منها. ثم فهرست للألقاب الواردة في البحث، والأماكن، والموضوعات؛ ليسهل الوصول للمعلومة.

Abstract: Research Abstract Due to the importance of the title (Al-alqob) and their explanation in the attribution of the profiled personality, and distinguishing it from others; I aimed in this research to clarify all the titles that Ibn al-Jazari explained its cause in his book Ghayat al-Nihayat. I followed the inductive approach in this research, by tracing all the titles that Ibn Al-Jazari mentioned and explained their cause, so I began the research by dividing it into two parts: I started the first section with an introduction; I talked about the importance of this knowledge in it, and gave it a preface by defining the following: Name, Nickname (Al-Kunyah) and Title (Al-Laqob), the order of their mention in names and biographies, and the differences in scholars’ opinions on this order. Then I showed the importance of the topic of explaining titles, and our need for it, and the reasons for choosing the book Ghayat al-Nihayat for this research, then I explained my approach and methodology of work in this research and its plan. I made the second section of the research five chapters, in the first chapter; I mentioned who his title was attributed to a land or place, and in the second chapter; I explained who his title was attributed to a profession, craft or job assigned to him, and in the third chapter; I explained who his title was attributed his surname to a household, tribe, relative, or one of the ancestor, and in the fourth; I mentioned who his title was attributed to a knowledge attribute that he was distinguished in it, a school of thought to which he belonged by learning or tutoring, or attributed to a mosque, a discipline, or a scholar. As for the fifth chapter; I showed in it who his title was attributed to an ethics he was known for, or a feature that he characterized. I concluded the research with a conclusion; wherein I mentioned the most important findings reached in this research, I found out that Ibn Jazari was very keen on stating the opinions of scholars on names, Nickname (Al-Kunyah) and Title (Al-Laqob), cities, and their clarifying their pronunciation, as well as some duplicate biographies; with names which some difference and similar students and teachers, and he mentioned some of the biographies that I did not find other sources, and his explanation for many titles that I did not find its sources, or mentioned the reason for it. Among the recommendations I resolved on after researching this book: I think that researchers should pay attention to compiling the names, titles, nicknames, and cities that Ibn Al-Jazari clarified their pronunciation; its attribution and rulings on them, as well as the personalities, scholars, and students. Those who were mentioned as unknown, some of whom were found in the books of biography. He also mentioned many prominent figures whom he didn’t profile, and he did not mention the year of their death; though their biographies are available in other books of knowledge, the book is full of mention of many schools, mosques and recitation; which needs someone to clarify, mention its locations and who graduated from it. Then indexing of the titles mentioned in the research, places, and topics were appended to facilitate access to information.
