المستخلص: تُعد حادثة أسر ملك حَجر اليمامة ثمامة بن أثال الحنفي رضي الله عنه (ت12ه/ 633م) من الأحداث الكبيرة في السيرة النبوية، لما نتج عنها من نتائج مؤثرة، مثل انضمام جزء مهم من اليمامة إلى المدينة النبوية، والمعروف أن اليمامة كانت تغذي مكة ببعض المنتوجات الغذائية لذا تسمى ريف مكة؛ فكان انضمام أحد ملوكها نقطة تحول في الصراع مع قريش في مكة. ومع كبر هذه الحادثة إلا أن المعلومات عنها تحتاج إلى تتبع وبحث وتقصي لتبعثرها في المصادر وقلتها من ناحية، واضطرابها من ناحية أخرى. لذا هدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة حادثة أسر ثمامة بن أثال وملابساتها وظروفها ونتائجها، وقد حاول البحث الوصول إلى معلومات دقيقة مثل تاريخ أسره وكيفيته، ومن ثم النتائج المترتبة على ذلك متبعًا المنهج التاريخي التحليلي خلال البحث. وقد خلص البحث إلى توصية مفادها أن كثيرًا من الأحداث التاريخية تحتاج لإعادة قراءة لا سيما وفق ما توفر من وسائل معرفية وتقنية يمكن توظيفها لخدمة البحث التاريخي والوصول إلى نتائج دقيقة.

Abstract: The incident of the capture of the King of Al-Yamamah Stone, Thumamah bin Uthal Al-Hanafi, may God be pleased with him, is considered one of the major events in the biography of the Prophet, due to the influential results that resulted from it, such as the joining of an important part of Al-Yamamah to the Prophet’s city. It is known that Al-Yamama used to supply Mecca with food, so it is called the countryside of Mecca. The accession of one of its kings was a turning point in the conflict with the Quraysh in Mecca. Despite the magnitude of this incident, information about it needs to be tracked, researched and investigated due to its scattering in the sources and its paucity on the one hand, and its confusion on the other hand. Therefore, this research aimed to study the incident of Thumama bin Athal’s capture, its circumstances, circumstances, and its results. The research attempted to obtain accurate information such as the history of his capture and how it happened, and then the consequences resulting from that, following the historical and analytical approach in doing so.
