المستخلص: قامت هذه الدراسة على تسليط الضوء على الاقتصاد السريلانكي ودور قطاع السياحة في عملية التنمية الاقتصادية السريلانكية وتتمثل أهمية الدراسة في الحاجة إلى دراسة علمية تتعلق باقتصاديات السياحة في جمهورية سريلانكا في ظل قلة الدراسات التي تناولت هذا الموضوع، ثم بيان أهمية قطاع السياحة في الاقتصاد السريلانكي باعتباره أحد أهم قطاعاته بحكم مساهمته في تحقيق أهداف الاقتصاد الوطني لتكون رديفة للتنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في البلاد. هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على بيان موجز عن الاقتصاد الوطني بجمهورية سريلانكا، ودور القطاع السياحي فيه، وذكر جهود الدولة في دعم القطاع السياحي من خلال اتباع مجموعة من البرامج والسياسات ثم تحليل واقع القطاع السياحي في سريلانكا وبيان مدى حاجته إلى التطوير فرضت الدراسة فرضية أساسية تتمثل في وجود أثر إیجابي للنشاط السياحي على عدد من المتغيرات الاقتصادية الكلية في الاقتصاد السريلانكي، توصلت الدراسة إلى أن نجاح الكثير من القطاعات الإنتاجية كان محدودا في سريلانكا بينما كان نجاح السياحة ومرافقها ومنشأتها مأمونا بشكل جيد. كما أن السياحة تلعب دورا هاما في اقتصاديات سريلانكا في التخفيف من حدة الفقر ولكن عدم الاستقرار السياسي والأمني كان من الأسباب التي لعبت دورا هاما في تعطيل القطاع السياحي. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة توسيع المشاركة في معارض السياحة العالمية والتركيز باتجاه الأسواق الرئيسية المصدرة للسياح، وتحسين جودة وكفاءة البنى الأساسية والخدمات المتعلقة بالسياحة من أجل تقديم خدمات متميزة على المستوى العالمي، ومتابعة أسعار المنتجات السياحية بالدول المنافسة والعمل على مقارنتها لغرض ضبط أسعار المنتج السياحي السريلانكي ليجد له موقعا تنافسيا بين المنتجات السياحية بالأسواق.

Abstract: Abstract This study sheds light on the Sri Lankan economy and the role of the tourism sector in the Sri Lankan economic development process. Its most important sectors by virtue of its contribution to achieving the objectives of the national economy to be synonymous with the economic and social development in the country. The study aimed to identify a brief statement about the national economy in the Republic of Sri Lanka, and the role of the tourism sector in it, and mention the efforts of the state in supporting the tourism sector by following a set of programs and policies, then analyse the reality of the tourism sector in Sri Lanka and indicate the extent of its need for development. The study imposed a basic hypothesis represented in the presence of a positive impact of tourism activity on several macroeconomic variables in the Sri Lankan economy. Tourism also plays an important role in the economies of Sri Lanka in alleviating poverty by creating job opportunities and increasing foreign exchange earnings, but the political and security instability was one of the reasons that played an important role in disrupting and neglecting the tourism sector. The study recommended the need to expand participation in international tourism exhibitions and focus on the main markets exporting tourists, and improve the quality and efficiency of infrastructure and tourism-related services in order to provide distinguished services at the global level, and follow up the prices of tourism products in competing countries and work to compare them for the purpose of controlling the prices of the Sri Lankan tourism product to find It has a competitive position among the tourism products in the markets.
