المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى تعرّف فاعلية إستراتيجية مراقبة الفهم في تنمية مهارات الاستماع الناقد لدى طلاب الصف الثالث المتوسط، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف استخدم الباحث المنهج التجريبي بتصميم المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة بقياس قبلي وبعدي، وتكونت عينة البحث من (47) طالبًا من طلاب الصف الثالث المتوسط بمدرسة أبي بكر الصديق المتوسطة بالمدينة المنورة، وبلغ عدد الطلاب في المجموعة التجريبية (23) طالبًا، و(24) طالبًا في المجموعة الضابطة، اختيرتا بطريقة عشوائية، وبعد تطبيق أداة البحث المتمثلة في اختبارٍ لمهارات الاستماع الناقد، توصل البحث إلى فاعلية إستراتيجية مراقبة الفهم في تنمية مهارات الاستماع الناقد لدى طلاب المجموعة التجريبية، وظهر ذلك من خلال وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا عند مستوى (0.05 ≥ α) بين متوسطي درجات المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية.

Abstract: This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of comprehension-monitoring strategy in developing critical listening skills among middle school students. To achieve this goal, the researcher utilized an experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements for both experimental and control groups. The research sample consisted of (47) students from the third intermediate grade at Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Intermediate School in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, with (23) students in the experimental group and (24) students in the control group. After applying the tool, a test for critical listening the result showed the effectiveness of the comprehension-monitoring- strategy in developing critical listening skills among students in the experimental group. This was evidenced by statistically significant differences at the level of (α≤ 0.05) between the means of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application in favor of the experimental group in the critical listening skills test.
