المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث العلة القاصرة من حيث بيانُ ماهيتها لغةً واصطلاحًا، والاطلاع على خلاف العلماء فيها، وعلى وجه الخصوص فوائد التعليل بالعلة القاصرة ومعرفة الخلاف الأصولي في إثبات الفوائد أو نفيها، ومن ثَم دراسة الفوائد، وهي تقوية النص الدال على حكمها، ومعرفة باعث الشرع، ومعرفة علة المصلحة، وامتناع القياس، وزيادة الأجر والعلم، وإذا وُجد فرع تحققت فيه العلة جاز الإلحاق بها. وتوصلتُ إلى تقرير الفوائد، وأنها ليست على مرتبة واحدة من حيث القوة، وسلكتُ منهجًا استقرائيًّا وتحليلًا حرصت فيه على الوقوف على الاعتراضات الموجهة إلى الفوائد، والأجوبة عنها. ومن التوصيات أن يقصد الباحثون النظر إلى مسائل أصولية جزئية لم يُستوفَ النظر فيها، ولم تُعطَ حقها من الدراسة والتحليل.

Abstract: This research examines the linguistic and terminological definition of exclusive cause (al-illa al-qasira) and reviews the scholars' disagreement over it, particularly with regard to the benefits of using the exclusive cause as a justification and the fundamental controversy over proving or disproving the benefits. Then the research studies the benefits, which include strengthening the text indicating its ruling, identifying the Sharia purpose, knowing the cause of interest, refusing the analogical reasoning (qiyas), increasing the reward and knowledge, and attaching the new case to it if the cause (illa) has established in such case. The findings of my research have proved the benefits and I concluded that they are not on the same level of strength. I adopted an inductive and analytical approach seeking to highlight the objections to the benefits and the answers to these objections. Among the research recommendations is a call for researchers to address fundamental sub-issues have not fully considered, nor given due study and analysis
