اشتمل البحث على مقدمة وتمهيد وأربعة مباحث ، التمهيد في دراسة أبي سعيد الإصطخري رحمه الله ، من خلال بيان اسمه ونسبه ومولده ووفاته ، وأنه عاش في عصر ازدهار العلم والمعرفة فكثر مشايخه وطلابه وبرع في الفقه والحديث، وتنوعت مهامه وأعماله ، وأنه يحتل مرتبة متقدمة جدا بين أقرانه في تأسيس وتدقيق المذهب الشافعي فكان من أصحاب الوجوب .
واشتملت المباحث على جمع أرائه الأصولية المبثوثة في كتب الأصوليين فبلغ مجمل ما نسب إليه بشكل صريح عشرة أقوال وافق المذهب في خمسة وخالفه في الباقي .
كان ابو سعيد متحررا في ترجيحاته وقافا عند الدليل وفق ما يؤول إليه اجتهاده ، ختم الباحث بحثه بعدد من النتائج والتوصيات .

Abstract: The research included an introduction, preamble, and four sections, the introduction explained the biography of Abu Sa'eed Al-Istakhtary, may Allah have mercy on him, by mentioning his name, lineage, birth and death, and that he lived in an era in which the science and knowledge flourished, and his rank was very high among his peers in establishing and verifying the Shafi'i school of thought, so he was one of the owners of the obligatory.
The investigation included a collection of his Principles of jurisprudence views, which were published in the books of the Principles of jurisprudence, and the total of what was explicitly attributed to him amounted to ten sayings, which agreed with the doctrine in five and disagreed with it in the rest.
Abu Sa'eed was free in his preferences and stood at the evidence according to what his diligence relates to. The researcher concluded his research with a number of findings and recommendations.
