المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن صورة من صور جهود اللغويين الغربيين في تحليل نصوص النحاة العرب وفهمها، وهذه الصورة تتجلى في دراسة الباحثة المجرية كنقا ديفيني حول معالجة الجملة الشرطية لدى النحاة العرب، وقد هدفت من خلال هذه الدراسة إلى الوقوف على طرائق النحاة المختلفة في التعامل مع الجملة الشرطية وتحليلها. ويهتم هذا البحث بعرض أهم القضايا التي تعرضت لها ديفيني ومناقشتها في ضوء المصادر العربية القديمة والدراسات المعاصرة، ويتمحور النقاش في هذا البحث حول ثلاث قضايا كونها تمثِّل جوهر دراسة ديفيني، وهي: المصطلح النحوي في باب الشرط وتطوره، أدوات الشرط والخلاف في تعدادها، التراكيب الفعلية في الجملة الشرطية وطرائق النحاة في تحليلها. وقد كشف هذا البحث عن بعض النتائج، من أبرزها: أننا نستنتج أن ديفيني قد سعت من خلال قراءتها لنصوص النحاة ومقارنتها مع بعض إلى أن تصل إلى صورة تجلِّي لنا ملامح التفكير النحوي لدى العرب ومنهجياتهم وطرائقهم في معالجة الجملة الشرطية وقضاياها مع رصد التطورات والاختلافات فيما بينهم محاولةً الكشف عن المبادئ التي تقف خلف تلك الاختلافات، ومن النتائج أيضاً أن أسلوب ديفيني -على الرغم من كونها غير عربية- قد امتاز في كثير من المواضع بالتحليل الدقيق لنصوص النحاة والقدرة على استنباط مقاصدهم، فهي لم تكتف بالوصف والنقل، بل استندت على التفسير والتعليل في كثير من أحكامها، وهذه السمة تعد إحدى السمات المنهجية لدراستها.

Abstract: This research aims to illuminate an aspect of the western linguists' efforts in analyzing and understanding the texts of Arab grammarians. This aspect is evident in the Hungarian researcher Kinga Dévényi's study that dealt with the conditional sentence among Arab grammarians. In her study, Dévényi aimed to identify the different methods employed by the Arab grammarians while dealing with the conditional sentence and investigate the way they analyzed this type of sentence. This present research is concerned with exploring and discussing the most important issues that Dévényi presented under the light of Classical Arabic sources and contemporary studies. The discussion in this research revolves around three issues, as they represent the essence of Dévényi's study, namely: (i) The grammatical term used in the chapter of the conditional sentence and its development, (ii) the conditional particles and disagreement in its enumeration, and (iii) the verbal structures in the conditional sentence and how they were analyzed by Arab grammarians. Finally, this research has revealed some results, the most prominent of which are: Dévényi, through her reading of the texts of Arab grammarians and comparing them with each other, was able to provide the readers with a picture that illuminates the manifestations of grammatical thought among Arab grammarians and their methodologies in dealing with the conditional sentence and the related issues. This also includes observing the historical developments and the differences among the grammarians. Moreover, it has been found that Dévényi's style - despite being non-Arab – shows, in many places, her ability to provide a thorough analysis of grammarians’ texts and a skill to infer their intentions. This is one of the key features of her study.
